As an artist and fine woodworker Bradford Mix has been plying his various skills in the Atlanta area since 1975. He grew up in Dayton ,Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and illustration. At an early age he developed interests in woodworking and watercolor painting.
In 1980 he opened his own business; ‘Bradford Mix and Associates’ His company built fine furniture for various decorators in the Atlanta area as well as restoring period furniture for the Atlanta Historical Society and the Tullie Smith House restoration.
In 1986 he and his family moved to the country in Muscadine, Al. His present home is a 16 acer mini farm located on the Tallapoosa river. It incorporates a woodworking shop, a blacksmith forge, and a ‘treehouse’ art studio.
At age 65 he is semi-retired and still does work for his clients in Atlanta and the Southeast. He is a member of the Georgia Film Maker’s Union, Local 479, and works part time as a scenic painter on movie sets.
His hobbies include turning wooden bowls from wood salvaged locally, and painting landscape scenes in oils and watercolor.
