Rick Barnard hails from the great white north, Victoria, BC, Canada where his passion for woodworking began at an early age in a junior high wood shop class. His interest in the craft was re-ignited later on in life while living in Northern, California, where he spent time in Napa Valley and seeing significant quantities of used wine barrels wasted and tossed into landfills. Rick realized that the “white oak” used to create the barrels could be re-purposed into high quality furniture and home decor items.

Rick dusted off his tools and Chili Pepper Woodworks was born. As the business and his creativity evolved, he began to broaden the scope of his work by expanding into other types of wood and incorporating metal into his pieces.

“My mission is to create high quality pieces that just enhance the natural beauty of the wood and bring it to life.”
