About our 2 Painters & A Potter

About Stacey Lawrence
As a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Stacey Lawrence was formally introduced to the arts while studying interior design and art history. Before devoting her time to family and raising her three children, the Charleston, South Carolina native worked professionally for 8 years in Colorado as a home and photo stylist. Photography was her artistic recreational tool, until recently when she turned her attention to painting. Stacey’s abstracts define space by creating harmony between color, line and form.

About Jen Singh
After graduating with a BFA in Illustration in 1991 from Kendall School of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI, Jen Singh relocated to Atlanta, GA where she began work as an art director and freelance illustrator for the editorial and publishing markets.

After almost two decades of design and freelance work, Jen began experimenting with mixed media and created a series of paintings featuring playful and ethereal subjects in nature. She had her first solo show in 2001, and has taken on many private commissions since then.

About Mallory Rose
Making intricate inlaid and painted imagery on her work is a time consuming process, but one that Mallory Rose truly loves. Her historically inspired handmade heirlooms are meant to be enjoyed and handed down by generations. She appreciates the expressions on customers faces when they pick up her work to look closer, to run their fingers over the carving or marvel at the tiny details.

Mallory’s custom work ranges from intricately carved maps of a honeymoon to a truly personalized wedding or anniversary jar.  Her custom Celebration Jars have led to the colorful and detailed painted mugs and vases she currently creates.

About Whole Creative
Meredith and Jean started as neighbors, then great friends, and now run a business together. They have used their creativity in different fields, but together, jewelry design called to them.

With a focus on building a reputation for classic, modern jewelry pieces, Whole Creative’s jewelry was picked up by various stores in Atlanta. Meredith and Jean’s pieces are handcrafted with mixed metal chain, natural stone, leather, spoon pieces, natural brass, and beads. Hand-knotted beading and wire wrapping are hallmarks of their craft, as well as curating elements involved in each piece.

Special Guest, Suzseams Millinery!

Derby Day is just around the corner (May 7th) and Susan Moreland of Suzseams Millinery will be selling her hat and fascinator creations at GDS for one day only!

From her website: “Drawing inspiration from milliners like Caroline Reboux, the illustrations of Erte, and the designs of Paul Poiret, Susan’s own aesthetic reflects a playful mix of historical references and the use of traditional materials like fur felt, cellophane straw, and unique and evocative vintage embellishments.”

“After years of hearing women say “I don’t look good in hats” for innumerable reasons, Susan has found that too few women realize they can wear hats, or most of all, know how the perfect hat can change the way they see themselves.”
