A fiber artist for more than 20 years, Emily Toledo decided to turn her hobby into a service project when her kids started inquiring about the people they would see asking for help as they drove around town. Operation Care Kit was created! Sales of her knitted items fund the kits which include basic toiletries, tissues, socks, snacks, fruit, and sweet notes of love for Atlanta’s unhoused community. And for every beanie sold, a beanie is added to a care kit to share warmth during the colder months.
