- Bargello Stitching
February 1, 2020
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
INSTRUCTOR: Shelley Schmidt
Want to create a unique phone case for your smart phone? Love the look of needlepoint but you’re not quite sure how to do it or where to start? This class will teach you the basics of bargello needlepoint in a fun and easy-to-learn format! Bargello needlepoint is a unique geometric style of needlepoint that rose in popularity during the 60s and 70s. And like all great things…it’s back in style!
We’ll work with needlepoint and tapestry yarns, needles, plastic canvas, and stitchable smart phone cases to learn several traditional methods of geometric bargello stitching. Each participant will get to create 1 custom stitched smart phone case – plus you’ll have the opportunity to begin working on additional Bargello stitching projects, if time permits!
All materials will be supplied for students to create 1 custom bargello embroidered smart phone case (needlepoint smart phone case, needlepoint yarns, 2 embroidery needles)…plus additional plastic canvas will be given to students to take home at the end of class so that they can continue practicing what they learned!
*Please contact the instructor and let her know what smart phone model you have 2 weeks before the class in order to ensure that the correct phone case will be available *
MATERIALS FEE DUE BEFORE CLASS
