- Chalk Painted Furniture Workshop
October 28, 2018
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Instructor: Candice O’Mary
Are you curious about chalk paint and interested in updating one of your pieces of furniture? If so, this is the class for you! Join Candice O’Mary for an interactive 3-hour workshop and learn the basics of refinishing furniture with chalk paint. You’ll learn how to properly prep furniture as well as make your very own homemade chalk paint recipe. We’ll also discuss tips and tricks, finishing techniques and how to care for and maintain your piece.
All you need to bring to the workshop is one piece of furniture you’d like to paint. We recommend a smaller piece of wood furniture such as a non-upholstered small chair, stool, side table or bench (no drawers). You’re responsible for transporting your piece of furniture into the studio, so make sure it’s something you can carry comfortably. You’ll also want to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. All supplies will be provided and we’ll have a variety of neutral paint colors available (think grays, whites & taupes). If you have a specific color in mind, feel free to bring your own. We suggest a sample size latex paint from your local hardware store in the color of your choice.
By the end of class, you’ll leave with the skills necessary to start refinishing pieces of furniture with confidence at home in no time!
***Please note you will need to pick up your piece of furniture a couple days after the workshop due to time constraints and drying times.***
