Instructor: Jen Singh
Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced artist, learning how to create image transfers will introduce you to a whole new world of using creative imagery in your work. Jen will show you the best methods to transfer photos and illustrations by using matte medium and laser prints to create interesting layers. The results are spontaneous and vintage-like for adding dimension and depth to works of art on wood or canvas

We’ll provide imagery to play with, but you are encouraged to bring your own black and white or color laser prints or color copies. (5×7 or smaller)

All materials supplied.

About Jen Singh

Jen is an artist, illustrator, designer, yogi and mom of two. After graduating with a BFA in Illustration in 1991 from Kendall School of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, MI, she relocated to Atlanta, GA where she began work as an art director and freelance illustrator for the editorial and publishing markets.

After almost two decades of design and freelance work, Jen began experimenting with mixed media and created a series of paintings featuring playful and ethereal subjects in nature. She had her first solo show in 2001, and has taken on many private commissions since then.

Some of of her favorite mark making tools include hand carved stamps, water-soluble graphite pencils and white gel pens. Jen shares her creative techniques teaching mixed media classes at GDS ranging from watercolor mixed media and collage to image transfers and acrylic painting.
