Learn to use charcoal in all its varying forms and versatility. From delicate lines to deep, rich value and shadows, charcoal is an expressive (and yes, messy!) medium that will delight anyone who tries their hand at it. Used for centuries in different forms; from sticks to pencils to “chunks”, charcoal’s capacity for line, shading, shape-building, positive vs. negative space and contrast is unparalleled. We will use a variety of surfaces and practice techniques to be applied to landscape compositions and nature themes.
