Instructor: Amy Armour
Design and print a colorful and unique tea towel using the art of linoleum block printing! Amy will guide students through the steps from taking your sketched designs to a stamp. Explore pattern design, carve a stamp with special tools and use traditional printmaking methods to create your very own textile designs and patterns.
In this class we will cover:
• design and transfer a sketch to stamp
• carving a linoleum block
• the art of surface design in textile printing
• complete a block printed piece (tea towel)
Materials Fee: $20
All tools, linoleum blocks, and tea towels will be provided.

About Amy
Amy Armour is the owner of Fastsoft Press, a small press in Decatur, GA that specializes in block printed textiles and aromatherapy pillows. Her work is inspired by the beauty of the natural world, specifically the native plants/flowers of the Southeast, and her love for the process of hand-printing.
She obtained a BFA in Printmaking from the Atlanta college of Art and a MFA in Book Arts from Camber College of Arts in London.

Class Cancellation Policy
Sometimes our classes won’t fill their minimum and we will need to cancel. Most likely it could be the day before, and we will contact you as soon as possible. A full refund will be applied if the studio has to cancel a class.

What happens if I need to cancel?
Class fees are non-refundable. There is a 72 hour (3 day) cancellation policy. If you cancel within 72 hours before the class, you will forfeit your fee. If you alert us 72 hours or more before your scheduled class, we will be glad to give credit for a future class. This credit must be used within 60 days of the cancellation date to prevent loss of the registration fee.
