About Melissa O’Boyle
I was first introduced to macrame as a jewelry-making technique in the late 90’s.  Fifteen years later, as styles and trends re-enter modern culture, I have picked it up again on a much larger scale.  My work was on display in West Elm Seattle in the summer of 2014 as a featured local artist and currently on display at Elm Ponce City Market in Atlanta.  I have been commissioned to make large wall hangings for both residential spaces and commercial spaces.  For me, the creative process is a way to awaken the spirit and offer therapy from our busy day to day lives.  Macrame especially can provide an easy outlet and is meditative by nature. I want to give individuals without formal training access to the joy of not only creating something beautiful and unique, but also a skill they can expand upon.

Melissa O’Boyle is an artist currently living and working Atlanta’s Midtown neighborhood.
She received her BFA from the University of Georgia in 2005. Her macrame work is on permanent display in public spaces in Los Angeles, Austin and Atlanta. She was featured as a local artist at West Elm Seattle summer 2014.
