- Painting In Abstract
June 20, 2020
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Instructor: Jen Singh
Explore ways to conquer the fear of the blank canvas and delve into the art of abstract painting using acrylic and charcoal.
First, students will be guided on how to use mark making as a base to get started. We’ll have natural elements to draw from like seed pods, branches and botanical elements for inspiration rather than observation. Using layers of acrylic paint, students will learn basic mixing techniques using a limited color palette. With the use of palette knives, skewers, bowl scrapers and other mark-making tools, learn ways to apply texture, create depth with color and shapes and the use of line work to create gorgeous layers within an abstract work of art.
MATERIALS FEE DUE BEFORE CLASS
