Born in Mainz, Germany, Tania Julian has resided in Atlanta since 1996 where she practiced Interior Design until 2004. As a teenager she was inspired by art museums and absorbed a deep sense of art history while studying design in Frankfurt. In preparation for her studies she was a private student of renowned artist Karol Rousin. She graduated summa cum laude from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in Interior design in 2000 and began her career at the mod firm idea|span where she refined her design principles and explored the psychology of space.

It was during this time she discovered her passion for pottery and the immediate gratification of clay. She takes pride and joy creating hand-crafted pieces. Every step of the process is dear to her, from throwing, trimming, glazing and firing. This ‘slow food’ process is something you can feel by using them on the daily.
