Description
Calligraphy and hand lettering might seem difficult, but with a few simple tools and techniques, you can get started making beautiful letters right away! In this workshop, you'll learn how to use a brush pen to create several basic pen strokes, and how to combine those strokes to form all the letters of the alphabet, as well as what kinds of pens and paper work best for modern calligraphy. Worksheets, tracing paper, blank paper, and pens will be provided.
Materials Fee: $10
The materials fee directly supports the artist/instructor and is separate from the workshop fee. Please pay instructor at the beginning of class.
About Lauren:
Lauren is an artist, musician, and educator based in North Decatur. She has always loved letters and typography, and began her deep dive into modern calligraphy as a pandemic project. Cancellation Policy
Workshop registrations are non-refundable and considered final sale.
If Garage Door Studio or the instructor must cancel a workshop for any reason, participants will receive a full refund.
If you are unable to attend and provide at least 7 days notice, we will issue a studio credit that may be applied toward another full-price workshop. Credits must be used within 30 days of the issue date or they will expire.
Cancellations made 3 days or less before the workshop date are not eligible for a refund, credit, or transfer due to the limited class size and advance preparation required.
